We are almost halfway through the 2025 spring semester, and Chi Omega has had a blast. From our newest additions running home in January to traveling with our sisters around the world last week, we have had a joyful past couple of months.

Almost one hundred new Chi Omegas joined the nest in January! We participated in Baylor Panhellenic’s recruitment under the direction of our recruitment chair Olivia Claire Smith and her team. We extended bids to 97 girls; each of them is unique, charismatic, and of the highest character. We cannot wait to see how they contribute to Theta Kappa in the next few years.

These new members spent the past few months learning all about Chi Omega’s heart and mission, spending almost every day laughing and growing closer to each other. The New member Education team planned mixers, dances, and other events aimed at introducing each girl to Chi Omega and the Panhellenic community. The girls were led by our New Member Educator, Maggie Mooney, as well as her assistants, Ellie Vaughan, Catherine Briery, and Mayme McFarland.

While new members were getting adjusted, 200 of our active members rehearsed the nights away for our 2025 All University Sing Act, Back On Track. For the first time in nine years, an all-girl act took home first place (and spoiler alert- it was us!). We could not have done it without our talented sing chairs: Executive Maris Morgan, Choreography Julia McGuire, Vocals Ellie Becker, Costumes and Props Maley Jane Holloman, and Backdrop Ashley Sleeper. Back On Track also received the award for Best Choreography. We will be back to perform this first place act at Pigskin October 24-26, 2025.

Once Sing wrapped up, we made our 97 new owls OFFICIAL Chi Omegas! Initiation took place over three evenings, and it was so sweet to share such a special experience with each of our newest girls. While we cannot share too much about the ritual itself- we can say that it was everything we dreamed of. We would also like to thank all of the alumni who came in to help and participate in initiating their loved ones- it is always a pleasure to share our chapter with our sisters!

Finally, we all split up for the last week to take a break from this crazy semester! We had girls travel west to California and all the way east to Florida. Some bundled up and hit the Colorado slopes and a few explored the Oregon coast. The fun did not stop in the states- we had sisters leave the country to places like Spain, Mexico, and France.

Coming back to reality is hard, but with our girls by our side, we are eager to take on the rest of this semester. We hope you have an AMAZING second half of the semester, and we will check in again soon!

XOXO, Theta Kappa
