Even before Recruitment began, I encountered women who would leave a lasting mark on my life. Watching my older sister Abby experience Chi Omega gave me a glimpse of something I had never seen before — a sisterhood rooted in encouragement, purpose, and genuine love. I knew I longed to be surrounded by women who would call me higher and challenge me to become the woman I always hoped to be.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 says, “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” That verse perfectly captures my year in Chi Omega. Every day, I have witnessed women living out those words — cheering each other on, celebrating victories, and standing beside one another through every season. Seeing the way this chapter poured into Abby, shaping her into a wise, steady, and loyal woman, has shown me what it truly means to be a Chi Omega. But what meant even more to me was how they welcomed me. Before recruitment, so many older girls intentionally reached out, not because I was “Abby’s little sister,” but because they genuinely wanted to know me. For someone who often felt like she lived in her sister’s shadow, that kind of love and individuality meant everything. In Chi Omega, I wasn’t compared, instead I was valued.

Throughout this past year, I have grown in ways I never expected. My faith has deepened, my academic confidence has strengthened, and my sense of self has become clearer, all because of the women walking beside me. My big Catherine, my best friend Elle, my little Kinsley, and my sister Abby have each shaped me in beautiful ways, constantly reminding me who I am and who I am becoming.

What I love most is how we celebrate everything: the big accomplishments, the quiet victories, and the everyday moments in between. I am surrounded by women who are hardworking, joyful, compassionate, and endlessly supportive. Being in their presence inspires me to grow, to serve, and to love more intentionally.

Choosing Chi Omega has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. The friendships, the growth, and the unwavering encouragement have shaped me in ways I will carry forever. I am forever so grateful to call these women my sisters. I am who I am today because of the love, grace, and sisterhood I found in Chi Omega.
